More Milk & Cookies

The ladies over at Love & Lavender have caught on to the entire cookie trend...cupcakes are clearly a thing of the past. I found this milk and cookies photo shoot and wanted to pass it on. I love the country, vintage feel of these photos...and of course- the milk and cookies!

"we go together like milk & cookies" wow- now that is cookie obsession.
love the cookie mix favors...great idea!

Ina & Gwyneth

My day definitely started off on the right note...last day of work in the office, Giants won the first game of the World Series...and I opened my email inbox to see...Ina!!

I have been loving Gwyneth Paltrow's blog and now have even more of a reason to be obsessed...Gwyneth and Ina recently made brunch together. Love. It was quite the trek for me to make it out to the Hamptons mid-week, but it looks like the two of them had a good time even without me there.

Ina just released a new cookbook- How Easy is That. I can't wait to get my copy to try out some of the recipes. Her recipes are always a total hit...taking simple ingredients and making an amazing meal.

Here are some shots of the girls making herbed ricotta bruschette:

here Ina is asking GP why she thought it was a good idea to name her daughter "Apple"
GP telling Ina all about hot husband Chris Martin- asks for Ina's brownie recipe that she makes for Jeffrey

my guess is that this is the first time GP has eaten cheese in years

GP didn't stay for brunch as she heard that there were no Sweet Jennies being served for dessert!!

Flower Vases

I want to plan an entire party around these vases and flowers...I think they are absolutely gorgeous! You need to obviously put these flowers over trays and trays of Sweet Jennies cookies...your guests will just swoon. I love the simplicity of this look...and the pops of color. Absolutely perfect.

Thanks to Sara at Party Perfect. Great Idea!

Baby Shower

I can't believe that I am going to be an aunt in less than two months! This past weekend my mom and I threw a shower for Kristin...we had tons of fun getting everything put together and prepared for the soon to be new addition to our family. The weather was absolutely awful on Saturday- loved being inside with the fire, champagne, treats and surrounded by our family.

adorable kristin...less than 2 months to go!

S'mores Cupcake Skewers

Here's a great idea to spice up your normal, blah dessert...s'mores skewers! Yum. Bring the fun of camping right into your home...and bonus- no having to deal with building fires or searching for sticks. I think these would be adorable for a birthday party or shower- serve an old time dessert favorite, but with a twist!

Thanks to Pepper Design for sharing this yummy idea.
thanks to Style & Grace for sharing the recipe

Burrata Love

I would be a very happy girl if I could eat burrata for every single meal of the day...one of the most delicious cheeses I have ever tasted. Whenever I go up to Inverness, I like to call Cowgirl Creamery to see if they are selling burrata that day...it really is that good...and since it's not cheap- you truly savor each bite.

Do I need to go much further? Clear that I love the burrata...so I was very excited to see today's blog post over at Sunday Suppers- a recipe for Broccoli & Burrata. I am putting this on my kitchen "to make" list....although not a fan of anchovies- may need to omit that in the recipe.

And what's the perfect combination with Broccoli & Burrata? You got it...a chocolate chip cookie.

Yum.

Popptags

These wine tags are the idea between two moms who adore wine...I absolutely love their sense of humor tied in with the gorgeous letterpress tags.

Everyone brings a bottle of wine as a hostess gift...but a bottle of with with one of these tags and a bag of Sweet Jennies cookies...perfection.

find of the week...

I just discovered Whitney English online and am in love...the perfect spot for gifts, stationery, invitations, etc. With the holidays right around the corner...there are lots of things on this site for your wish list.

Here are some things on my list:

I was busy this weekend baking up a storm for sweet Brook & Tim who just moved to NYC. Here's the final package before heading off to the post office.

I know...the apples are a bit much...but trying to spice up the Sweet Jennies photo shoots.

Farmhouse Wares

Although this post has nothing to do with cookies...had to share my idea obsession for the day. I found these cupcakes stands at Farmhouse Wares. I love the simplicity of the white stands...especially using them as place cards.

This site always has great finds for the home...6 cupcake stands for only $40.

Happy Shopping!

Finally Fall...

Although we are in the thick of our Indian Summer in San Francisco, there's no denying that fall is just around the corner. I love absolutely everything about fall and am excited that the holidays are just around the corner. As for Sweet Jennies- we can't wait to be baking more and more ginger cookies...yum.

I need all the help I can get with decorating. There are just may too many design ideas out there, but thankfully Lonny does the most incredible job of publishing everything top notch.
Here are some of my favorite kitchens found in Lonny...have spent all day dreaming about how much fun I could have baking in these amazing spaces...

Martha & Oprah

Who saw the latest Oprah Show with Martha as a guest?? Two fabulous divas...the show was hilarious...highlights of Martha waxing the floors in prison and Oprah serving bloody marys to the audience.

Did you know that Martha started her empire baking cookies?? Sweet Jennies, meet Martha Stewart!
Martha on the Oprah Show? definitely a good thing
No invite for Ina sadly...but she was fine at her Hamptons compound...dreaming of her next cocktail.

loving this gift idea for october...

adorable gift tags from drink me tags. these couldn't be any cuter and are a perfect way to spice up your everyday boring chardonnay.

headed to dinner at a friends? make sure to bring your bottle of wine and sweet jennies cookies!

thank you thoughtfully simple for this idea

Maptote

For those of you who know me, you could confirm that I am a tote freak...it's a bit of a problem, but I tell myself that there could be a lot more worse things to be addicted to than monogrammed tote bags. That being said, I am always on the look out for new, adorable totes.

I recently have had my eye on these maptotes which are actually wine carriers...what could be better...combining two of my favorite things...wine and totes?! I think these could be adorable gifts or party favors. Check out maptote website, the company has them for all different places- Brooklyn, Manhattan, Philly, etc.

I also am in love with their mapnotes which would be absolutely perfect for a finishing touch on a bag of Sweet Jennies cookies!

Hope you all are having a great start to your week!
