totes + flowers

My sweet friend, Courtney, sent me this adorable party idea...combining two of my favorite things- totes and flowers!

I may just need to plan a labor day party to get this idea into action!!

food52

I just discovered a new website for recipes, entertaining and fun ideas- food52...I am in love...and already have lost so much time poking around this site. Take a look and let me know what you think!
baked mac & cheese...really doesn't get much better
Spicy Turkey Meatloaf? Yes, please

U + U Design

Loving all these tags and personalized goods from U + U Design. Although it looks as though most of the items are for a wedding weekend- these all could be easily incorporated for any party. I think the label with the anchor is my favorite!

Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend!

Happy Easter Weekend!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays...always a special time to have my entire family together, have a nice long brunch and (weather depending) soak up the sunshine. We are spending Easter out in Inverness and I couldn't be more excited to pack up the car and head west.

loving all these easter colors...can't wait for Peter Rabbit!!
lthanks  Gen's Favorite for sharing

I love Kate Spade's new ad campaign- Live Colorfully!

Today is 20% off at Kate Spade...need to find the online code...but was just in the store earlier this week and the girls told me about this awesome deal!

Martha & Oprah

Who saw the latest Oprah Show with Martha as a guest?? Two fabulous divas...the show was hilarious...highlights of Martha waxing the floors in prison and Oprah serving bloody marys to the audience.

Did you know that Martha started her empire baking cookies?? Sweet Jennies, meet Martha Stewart!
Martha on the Oprah Show? definitely a good thing
No invite for Ina sadly...but she was fine at her Hamptons compound...dreaming of her next cocktail.

Ina Inspiration

I dream of one day being best friends with Ina Garten. We could live in the Hamptons together, spend our afternoons drinking sidecar cocktails together...pretty much spend the entire day thinking of our next fabulous meal that we would make together.

Ina (aka: the barefoot contessa) is an inspiration to me as she wasn't always the culinary diva that she is today. Before her days of pot roasts and clam bakes, Ina used to work in White house as a nuclear policy analyst. After spotting an ad for 400 square foot specialty food store in Westhampton, Ina took a leap and purchased the store...and kept the store's original name "Barefoot Contessa". Fast forward thirty years and Ina is an absolute rock star...her own Food Network show, articles in House Beautiful and author of seven cookbooks.

Since I love baking and am not so good when it comes to cooking...Ina always comes to the rescue with her simple, easy and oh so yummy meals! Some of my favorite recipes are her Engagement Roast Chicken and Turkey Lasagna.

Maybe one day Sweet Jennies will be as big as Barefoot Contessa...or even better- maybe Ina and I could become business partners?!
living the life!
